SE 2007

Page history last edited by Ryan Finnerty 1 yr ago

S&E 2007

Goal:

Move out 20,000 volumes

Timeline:

FY 06/07. Needs to be done by December 30, 2007

Coordinator:

Deborah Kegel

Method:

Primarily a Monographic weeding project. Send all SPIE's that are also online to SRLF. Send ACM conference proceedings to SRLF. Send Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) to SRLF. Send IEEE conference proceedings to Annex. The previous categories would be around 12,000 volumes. Still need to identify 8,000 more monographs to weed.

Zero use items (non-conf proc) were weeded a few years ago to Annex and then to SRLF.  Additional zero or low use items being id'd and pulled (summer/fall 07).  Books with magnetic diskettes candidates for weeding if not used since 2002- completion date target is end Oct 07.

Processing:

S&E students are checking to see what volumes are not already in SRLF* and sorting the books onto SRLF and withdrawal carts. Carts are then delivered to DBM.

Comments & Updates:

All ACM conferences that are also online have been sent to SRLF (or discarded if already there).

All SPIE's that are also online have been sent to SRLF. (May 11th, 2007)

LNCS with Net cataloging records as of April 2007 (?) pulled and sent to DBM.

IEEE conferences in Q-QA's pulled.

*NRLF Gladis catalog also being checked for zero use items as of late Sept 2007.

Cataloging & Acq issues to be resolved:

LNCS STO cancellation (okayed for end of Dec 2006 by CDL-Ivy).

LNCS NET cataloging - Donal working on final records (under 500 now).
