SSH Reference

Goal:

Weed the existing collection by 50% (ca. 20,000 volumes)

Timeline:

FY 06/07. Needs to be be done by June 30, 2007

Current status:

8/15/07 -- Sam reports that they are nearing the end. Mostly only have some big sets to go

3/18/09 -- Sam confirmed that the project was completed by the end of summer 2007

Volume count before weeding: 38,798

50% target figure: 19,399

Volume count after weeding: 25,181 (38% of target figure)

Shortfall: 5,782

While we fell short of our 50% volume count, we freed up more than 50% of the space in Reference and were able to eliminate many location codes such as SSH Ref Biography, SSH Ref Indexes, and SSH Ref Lit.

Processing:

Trucks of materials that are done being reviewed are delivered to DBM
